Nourish: Community Sings

Friends, I'm really excited to share this news. after taking some time to figure out my "what's next", I am thrilled to announce that VocalPoint and Central Presbyterian Church are partnering to start something new.
Similar to the moment after the 2004 Tsunami in SE Asia, I've been asking myself, what is needed in this moment, and how can I help.
The answer is different than it was 21 years ago.
After listening to wise people who have been on the front lines of the resistance for years, I believe the following:
1. We must be careful to avoid becoming overwhelmed, creating paralysis.
2. We can't do it all, even though we care about it all.
3. There is strength in numbers. Instead of re-creating the wheel, let's join forces with organizations already doing good work.
4. Stay healthy. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Drink water. Eat well. Get sleep.
5. We are not alone.
6. It feels really good to sing together.
7. Food is good.
(Ok, #6 and #7 might be my personal additions. )
Join us for “Nourish” -- community sings that are intended to fill our cups and strengthen us for the work that lies ahead. You do not need any special skills or experience; no auditions, no concert, no tickets. This is a moment for YOU to be nourished. For us to tend the fires; to know we are not alone. To affirm that compassion and empathy are gifts to be shared. All are welcome.
Come. Be encouraged. Be fed.
